Mushroom Chicharon

A must-try Filipino crispy snack in a vegetarian way – Mushroom Chicharon!




  1. In a saucepan, add 1 cup of coconut oil and heat until hot.
  2. In a bowl, mix together all the dry ingredients except the bread crumbs.
  3. Add water and mix until well combined. 
  4. Add oyster mushroom in the flour mixture and submerge all parts.
  5. From the flour mixture, roll oyster mushroom in breadcrumbs, and deep fry mushroom until it’s golden brown.
  6. Strain and drain mushrooms to remove oil.
  7. Serve hot


*all purose flour is an optional batter
