What is Tofu Salpicao?
This Tofu Salpicao is a vegan version of the Spanish-inspired Filipino stir-fry dish - Beef Salpicao or Salpicado de Solomillo! It is traditionally made with beef cubes cooked down in a tasty, savory sauce with lots of garlic bits.
It is one of the favorite Filipino dishes that are influenced by Spanish cuisine since the Philippines was under Spanish rule for many years. Its name is derived from the Spanish word “salpicado", which means to spatter, sprinkle, or spotted.
In this recipe, I used firm tofu instead of beef, with soy sauce mix, minced garlic, onion, and seasonings which makes a delicious and addicting dish. It is quick and simple to make yet packed with fantastic flavor! It can be served as an appetizer or main dish for vegan lunch or dinner. Try and enjoy!
