Vegan Filipino Spaghetti

delicious and easy to cook vegan Filipino spaghetti

A delicious, healthy, vegan take on the Filipino loaded with vegetarian hotdogs and vegetarian ground protein!

Ingredients

For Pasta:

  • 3 Cups of water
  • 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
  • 250 grams of pasta

For the Sauce:

  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 small size onion, minced
  • 67 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 80 grams vegetarian ground protein 
  • 150 grams vegetarian hot dog, sliced into 3s
  • 250 spaghetti Filipino sauce
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup coconut cream*
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar**
  • 1 tablespoon salt 
  • ½ teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. In a pot over medium heat, add 3 cups of water and bring to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of oil, salt and cook the spaghetti according to package’s direction or for about 7 to 9 minutes or until firm to bite. Drain well and set aside. 
  2. In a large saucepan heat oil. 
  3. Then add ground vegetarian protein, sliced hot and stirring occasionally cook for about 3 minutes or until lightly browned. 
  4. Next add the Filipino spaghetti sauce, tomato sauce, coconut cream, and mix. Allow the sauce to simmer for about 2 to 4 minutes, then add sugar, salt, and pepper. 
  5. To serve, spoon the spaghetti sauce over the spaghetti noodles and top with vegan cheese.

Notes

*ground protein you can purcahse at your logcal health food store or if you’re in Asia buddhist shop or Adventist  store
