Oat Burgers

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small red onion
  • 200 grams white beans drained and washed
  • ¼ cup tomato sauce
  • cups quick oats
  • ¼ cup cilantro finely chopped
  • juice of half lemon
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ¾ teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Heat a medium size pan over medium heat with 1 tablespoon oil and cook onion until tender, about 3 minutes. Remove the pan from the stove and allow it to cool down.
  • In a mixing bowl, add beans and mash with a fork.
  • then add tomato sauce, oats, cilantro, lemon juice, spices, onion, and mix until combined.
  • Divide into 3 balls and press with your hands to form 3 patties.
  • Heat a pan with 2 tablespoons oil on medium heat, cook patties on both sides until golden brown.
  • Serve as a burger or eat with rice.
