Ingredients
½cuporganic dried elderberries
2 ¼cupsfiltered water
4slicesfresh gingerpeeled and sliced into ⅛ inch thick
½teaspooncinnamon
¼cupraw honey
Instructions
Cook the Elderberries
Add the dried elderberries, filtered water, fresh ginger, and cinnamon to a slow cooker.
Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
Strain the Syrup
Carefully strain the cooked mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a medium bowl.
Discard the strained elderberries, ginger, and other solids.
Add the Honey
Allow the strained liquid to cool until it is only slightly warm.
Add the raw honey and stir until completely combined.
Store
Pour the finished elderberry syrup into a clean glass jar.
