Banana Chocolate Chip Pound Cake

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup butter softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 banana ripe
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ tablespoon almond extract
  • 1 ¾ cups flour
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

Prepare the Oven and Pan

  • Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).
  • Grease a 9-inch loaf pan and set aside.

Mix the Batter

  • In a stand mixer, beat butter and sugar for 5 minutes or until fluffy.
  • Slowly add in eggs, egg yolks, banana, salt, and almond extract.
  • Beat until fully incorporated, about 3 minutes.
  • Add flour a little at a time. Beat on low speed just until combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula.

Bake the Cake

  • Spread the batter evenly into the prepared loaf pan.
  • Bake for 45–60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool and Serve

  • Cool the cake in the pan for 20 minutes.
  • Remove from pan and let cool completely on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
