Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons ground toasted black sesame seeds
  • 2 cups coconut milk
  • ½ cup condensed milk or vegan condensed milk
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • cup water
  • ½ cup whipped cream regular or coconut-based

Instructions

  • In a pot over medium-low heat, combine ground black sesame seeds, coconut milk, and condensed milk. Stir continuously.
  • Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly to avoid burning.
  • In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry.
  • Slowly pour the slurry into the simmering coconut mixture while stirring.
  • Continue stirring until the mixture thickens slightly, then remove from heat.
  • Pour into dessert cups and allow to cool to room temperature.
  • Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  • Top with whipped cream before serving. Optionally, sprinkle with more toasted sesame seeds for added texture.

Notes

Watch out as the coconut milk burns easily.
