  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder**
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 ¾ cups hot water

Instructions

Prepare the Oven and Pan

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.

Make the Batter

  • In a large bowl, mix all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, salt, baking powder, and cocoa powder.
  • Add milk and melted butter.
  • Mix until well combined.
  • Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pan.

Add the Topping

  • Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over the batter.
  • Sprinkle the remaining cocoa powder on top.
  • Carefully pour the hot water over the mixture. Do not stir.

Bake

  • Bake for 30–40 minutes, or until the top is set and the sauce is bubbling underneath.

Serve

  • Let cool slightly before serving.
  • Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.

Notes

**I mentioned in the video 2 tablespoons of baking powder I mean to say 2 TEASPOONS.
  • Do not mix after adding the hot water to allow the sauce layer to form properly.
  • Best served warm for the gooey fudge texture.
  • The cake will create its own chocolate sauce while baking.
