Make the Cream Cheese Mixture In a large bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, and egg until smooth. Set aside.
Prepare the Brownie Batter Assemble the Zebra Swirls Pour ¼ of the brownie batter into the greased pan and spread evenly.
Add ¼ of the cream cheese mixture over the brownie batter.
Alternate layers of brownie batter and cream cheese mixture, continuing until both are used up, creating a zebra swirl pattern.
Bake and Serve Bake at 350°F for:
30–40 minutes if using a 9x13-inch pan for a brownie-like texture
50–60 minutes if using a 9x9-inch pan for a more cake-like texture
Cool before slicing and serving.
For more of a cakelike texture I used a 9x9 inch pan, but if you want a brownie like texture use a 13x9 inch pan.
