Ingredients
1cupUnsalted buttersoftened
½cuppacked brown sugar
2¼cupsAll-purpose flour
Instructions
Make the Dough:
Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
Line an ungreased cookie sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Gradually add the flour, mixing until a soft dough forms.
Roll and Shape:
Lightly flour your work surface. Roll out the dough to your desired thickness (about ¼ inch is typical).
Cut into shapes using a cookie cutter or slice into squares or rectangles.
Place the cookies on the prepared baking sheet, spacing slightly apart. Using a fork, gently prick the tops of each cookie to help them bake evenly.
Bake:
Bake for 25 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
Let the cookies cool on the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
