    FAQs

    Is this recipe spicy?

Yes, it's mildly spicy. If you're not fond of spicy dishes, you can remove them completely. If you love spicy, feel free to add a bit more chili!

How do I know when the papaya is cooked?

It should be tender when pierced with a fork. But make sure it's not mushy. While it cooks, check it from time to time.

    Can I use ripe papaya?

You shouldn't! Ripe ones are too soft and sweet for the dish. Firm green papaya is the best choice.

What can I add for more flavor?

Add chicken for a heartier dish. A little fish sauce also adds a savory flavor. For more greens, stir in malunggay leaves near the end of cooking.
