What is Dalgona Coffee?
Dalgona coffee is a whipped, frothy iced coffee drink made with milk, ice, instant coffee, and sugar. Also known as "whipped coffee" or "frothy coffee", dalgona coffee has two distinct layers made from whipped coffee cream sitting on top of iced milk. It almost tastes like a Frappuccino you would order at Starbucks- but better!
In this recipe, we're replacing the whipped coffee with strawberry whipped cream.
Substitutions
- Fruit Variations: Instead of fresh strawberries, you can use a tablespoon of strawberry Nesquik or strawberry syrup for a quicker option.
- Dairy-Free Option: Use unsweetened almond milk instead of regular milk for a dairy-free version.
- Sweetener Alternatives: Replace the sugar with your favorite sweetener to make it low-carb or keto-friendly.
Variations
- Chocolate Twist: Add a drizzle of chocolate syrup or Nutella for a chocolate-strawberry combination.
- Hot Drink Version: Use hot milk instead of cold milk for a warm and comforting drink, perfect for cold days.
Storage
If you have any leftover whipped strawberry mixture, store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Give it a quick stir before using it again.
