For this blueberry smoothie, I topped it with shredded coconut, chia seeds, and pumpkin seeds. You can use any of your favorite smoothie bowl toppings!

This smoothie bowl is so nutritious and perfect for a pre-workout or post-workout meal!

    Substitutions

    • Protein Powder: If you're looking to boost the protein content of your smoothie bowl, consider adding a scoop of protein powder. Opt for your favorite flavor, like vanilla or chocolate, and mix it in with the other ingredients.
    • Liquid: Instead of almond milk, try using coconut milk, oat milk, or any other non-dairy milk of your choice.
    • Frozen Bananas: If you're out of frozen berries, frozen bananas, mango, pineapple, and kiwi can serve as a great alternative for thick smoothie bowl.
    • Peanut Butter: Swap almond butter for peanut butter for a nutty twist.
    • Oats: For added fiber and texture, blend in a handful of oats into your fruit smoothies.
    • Sweetener: Instead of maple syrup, you can use honey or agave syrup to add natural sweetness to your smoothie bowl.

    Variations

    • Strawberry Banana Smoothie Bowl: Blend frozen strawberries, banana slices, Greek yogurt, and a splash of non-dairy milk until smooth. Top with fresh strawberries, banana slices, and a sprinkle of granola for extra crunch.
    • Berry Smoothie Bowl: Mix frozen berries (like raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries) with coconut milk and a scoop of protein powder until creamy. Add fresh berries, hemp seeds, and a drizzle of honey for more flavor.
    • Acai Smoothie Bowl: Blend frozen acai packets with banana, coconut milk, and spinach until smooth. Serve topped with granola, sliced banana, and Greek yogurt for a satisfying meal or snack.
    • Dragon Fruit Smoothie Bowl: Blend frozen dragon fruit chunks with pineapple, mango, and coconut water until creamy. Garnish with fresh fruit, cacao nibs, and shredded coconut for a tropical delight.
    • Chocolate Smoothie Bowl: Combine frozen banana, cacao powder, almond milk, and protein powder until thick and smooth. Finish with cacao nibs, chopped nuts, and a drizzle of nut butter for a decadent treat.

    Storage

If you happen to have leftovers (which is rare because these bowls are so delicious!), you can store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Just give it a good stir before enjoying the next day.

    Top Tip

For the smoothest and most delicious smoothie bowls, use frozen fruit that's really frozen. This keeps your bowl thick and rich without needing extra ice.

And don't hesitate to try different toppings for added flavor and texture. From nuts and seeds to fresh fruit and granola, you can make each bowl uniquely yours!

    Frequently Asked Questions

How do you make a smoothie if you don't have a blender?

When you don't have a blender, you can mash the fruits in a bowl using fork, spoon or potato masher.

How do you thicken a smoothie bowl?

Key trick is using more ice. You may use frozen fruits or add nut butter to make it thicker.

Do you need a special blender to make smoothie bowls?

A regular blender like vitamix should do the trick. Just remember to give it a 30-second break after each use to let it rest.

Hi guys Lainey here! Today I'm sharing with you another NO BAKE, but healthy recipe! A smoothie Bowl!! Honestly if I can make it, anybody can...it's that easy!

I'm pretty sure everyone has the fruit base which is some kind of frozen fruit, yogurt, milk, and a nut butter!! Pop it in the blender and blend till it's nice and smooth, but make sure it's not liquidy. Garnish the smoothie bowls with your choice of nut, fruit or anything and that's it!
