Substitutions & Variations
- Ingredient Swap
Use plant-based butter. - Variation
Peanut butter can work in place of Nutella, too, but it will change the taste. - Mistake to Avoid
When sealing the cookie dough around the Nutella, make sure not to leave gaps. - Storage Tips
- Store cooled cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for about 3–5 days.
- Both baked cookies and cookie dough freeze well for up to 2–3 months when tightly wrapped. Let baked cookies thaw at room temperature, or warm them briefly before serving for a softer Nutella center.
