    Substitutions & Variations

    • Ingredient Swap
      Use plant-based butter.
    • Variation
Peanut butter can work in place of Nutella, too, but it will change the taste.
    • Mistake to Avoid
When sealing the cookie dough around the Nutella, make sure not to leave gaps.
    • Storage Tips
      • Store cooled cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for about 3–5 days.
      • Both baked cookies and cookie dough freeze well for up to 2–3 months when tightly wrapped. Let baked cookies thaw at room temperature, or warm them briefly before serving for a softer Nutella center.

    FAQs

Can I use melted chocolate instead of  Nutella?

Yes you can. Whatever chocolate you have in your pantry or fridge, you can use it.

Will this recipe work if I put smooth peanut butter instead of Nutella?

Yes, for sure, that would be equally delicious.

How do I know the cookies are done baking?

Check the texture. The centers should seem slightly soft. The edges should look lightly golden.
