What is the Red Juice Recipe?

The Red Juice recipe is also called "Beet juice". Made with beets, carrots, and oranges, it isn’t traditionally Filipino but fits the country's love for fresh, health-boosting drinks. Inspired by global wellness trends, it blends natural sweetness with earthy depth. The standout ingredient, beets, is less common in Filipino cuisine but prized for boosting stamina and heart health.

    Health Benefits of Beets

    • Boosts stamina – Rich in nitrates that improve oxygen flow and endurance
    • Supports heart health - Helps lower blood pressure and improve circulation
    • Aids digestion - The pulp and fiber promote gut health
    • Enhances brain function - Increases blood flow to the brain
    • Strengthens body immunity - Packed with vitamin C and antioxidants

    Substitutions

    • Beets - Red bell pepper for milder sweetness or pomegranate seeds for rich color and antioxidants
    • Carrots - Sweet potatoes for similar sweetness or mangoes for a tropical twist
    • Oranges - Pineapple for tangy and sweet, or calamansi juice as a Filipino citrus alternative
Straw in a tall glass of red juice

    Recipe Variations

    • Creamy Red Juice – Blend in coconut milk and banana for a smooth, rich, and naturally sweet texture
    • Spicy Red Juice – Add cayenne pepper and fresh turmeric for a metabolism-boosting kick
    • Green Boost Red Juice – Swap oranges for green apples and add spinach or kale for extra detox benefits

    Storage

    • Store this red juice in an airtight glass container for 2 days in the fridge.
    • Freeze in ice cube trays for up to 1 month, then blend or thaw before drinking. Shake before serving, as natural separation occurs.

Note: It does not freeze well for more than 1 month, as its texture and nutrients degrade over time.

Hint: For a smoother juice, strain it through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth.

    ⭐ Top Tip

For a smoother juice, strain using a fine-mesh strainer to remove excess pulp, or keep it in for extra fiber and folate.

    FAQ

Is it good to drink beetroot juice daily?

Beet juice can provide beneficial nutrients such as antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. Drinking it regularly may help support your health, reduce inflammation, and increase your exercise stamina, among other benefits.

What juice makes you lose weight fast?

Lemon-ginger green juice can be a vibrant and delicious addition to a balanced weight loss diet. In particular, lemons can help add a zip of flavor to your drink while squeezing in some extra antioxidants. Some studies in humans and animals also show that ginger could help boost metabolism.

Is it OK to drink red beet juice every day?

Drinking a regular-sized glass of beetroot juice every day shouldn't cause any adverse effects, although one study did find that those who drank one 250ml glass a day lowered blood pressure but did experience a change in the colour of their urine.

Love beets! I tried doing a pancake with it once but it came out too runny, I think this is perfect for drinks anyway.
