I love SunButter! I use it in so many recipes now and replace most peanut and almond butters in baking recipes. So much more nutritious and subtle. Sometimes I mix it with other nut butters.
Lainey says
Me too! It's a staple in my home and I use it often. I LOVE adding it to my smoothie! Thank you for swinging by! 💙

Hi Rebecca! I have not tried this using GF flours though. I will let you know. But you can always experiment. That would be exciting! Thanks so much for swinging by my blog and channel!

Are you sure baking soda is supposed to go in the recipe? Shouldn't it be baking powder? My cookies turned green too. Not appetizing at all.
AJ says
These cookies are amazing! I made them for a party and everyone loved them! The only thing is that they did turn green the next day.
Lainey says
Hi AJ, thank you for trying out this recipe. I'm sorry to know that it turned green the next day, that has never happened to me before. That's so weird..
Princess says
The chlorogenic acid (chlorophyll) in sunflower seeds reacts with the baking soda/powder when baked, causing the green color when the cookies cool. This is completely harmless! Depending on the recipe, a splash of lemon juice may help. You can also check out our tried and tested SunButter recipes.

Our son is allergic to peanuts, so we keep sunbutter on hand at all times. Honestly, I’ve grown to love it more than peanut butter. I can’t wait to make these with kiddo! Thank you for keeping it simple!
Lainey says
Hi Angelica! You're welcome. I'm glad you like this recipe. Please don’t forget to tag me with your photos when you bake it! 🙂

Pretty good I have celiac disease and Gastroparesis plus some food allergies. So I used gluten free soy milk (I use west soy milk because silk soy milk may contain nuts and other allergens) and gluten free Bob’s red Mill 1 to 1 baking flour. It turned out great . I used the sugar free sun butter and I kept everything else in the recipe the same. Just Subsisting the gluten
Lainey says
Hi Maya, it's good to know that you did some tweaks and it turned out great! Good job! Thank you for trying out this recipe! I really appreciate it!
LISA TEADERMAN says
I have two kids that love the color green. I thought this was going to be an awesome surprise. But for some reason mine did not. I'm so disappointed. Maybe I should increase the baking soda?
Olivia says
