Tips and Procedures:
- I like to scoop my cookie dough and freeze them for about 15 minutes before baking. This allows the butter to chill up that way when they bake, they don't spread as much and you're left with a thicker chewier cookie.
- Before mixing the dry ingredients like all-purpose flour, baking soda, and brown sugar, sift them individually. This easy but very important step would make your cookies nice and evenly textured. It wouldn't be fun biting into a lump of flour in between 🙂

The cookie batter will look like this:

Shape dough to about 1 ½ to 2 inch balls and bake for 12-14 minutes:
I promise, Simply Bakers, these smelled so yummy in my kitchen!
Melt the white chocolate in a microwave and you are ready to drizzle some sweet chocolate on top of the cooled Red Velvet Cookies!
There's no really perfect way to do it. I just did it "freestyle" but it still looked pretty! ♥

David Brightwell says
The ingredients include 1/4 cup of cocoa powder but it is not mentioned in the mixing instructions. I
combined it with the flour before adding to the wet ingredients. The cookies came out looking like chocolate cake instead of red velvet. Is the amount of cocoa accurate, because it appeared to be too much?
Lainey says
Hi David, I'm so sorry! Fixed it on the recipe card. 🙂 Yes it's correct, the cookies were almost cakelike. 🙂
Wanda Comcy says
Real red velvet doesn't need food coloring because the cocoa gives it color.
