    Turon is a super easy, classic Filipino banana dessert recipe! It is a quick snack to prepare that is perfect anytime you want a no-bake fruit-based snack! Turon is a favorite of most Filipinos – it is so easy to make and all ingredients are conveniently available!

    Tips and Procedures: 

    • If you want your Turon to be crispier on the outside, sprinkle some brown sugar on them while frying. Just be careful not to put too much so the brown sugar won’t cause the oil to burn.
    • To make your Turon extra special, serve it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream! Yum!
    • To prevent tearing off of the Turon, you can use two pieces for each Turon.

    How to Make this Turon Recipe:

    Gather the ingredients for Turon and once the ingredients are all ready, let’s begin!

    • Burro Bananas
    • Spring Roll Wrappers
    • Jackfruit
    • Water
    • Oil for frying

    Peel the bananas and slice vertically into three:

    Slice the jackfruit thinly, just like so:

    Assemble starting with the spring roll wrappers, bananas, jackfruit, and water. Lay the wrapper down, place the banana in the middle followed by the jackfruit:

    Roll till about halfway and then grab the ends and fold in and continue rolling:

    When you have about an inch left dip your finger in the water and wet the last inch and continue rolling:

    Once all the bananas are wrapped, pour oil into the pan and fry till all sides are golden brown:

    When you see that the Turon has this color on both sides, this is ready to be taken out from the oil:

    Let the Turon cool and to take away the excess oil from the Turon wrapper, you can let it sit on a paper towel before serving:

    Frequently Asked Questions for the Turon Recipe:

    Q: Can I assemble the Turon in advance and freeze it?

    A: Yes, definitely. You just thaw it for about 30 minutes before frying.

    Q: Is the Turon wrapper the same as the wrapper used in lumpia or spring roll?

    A: Yes, it is the same and is also called spring roll wrappers.

    Q: Can I make it into banana cue?

    A: For sure, you can make into a Turon banana cue or Turon cue, just poke through a stick and serve!

    Q: What oil should I use when frying Turon?

    A: I used vegetable oil but any kind of oil will do.
