Top Tip
- Sift the powdered sugar before adding it to your mixture. This helps remove lumps, making sure it dissolves more quickly and evenly.
Substitutions
- Whipping Cream: Use coconut cream for a dairy-free option.
- Strawberries: Feel free to use strawberry sauce or strawberry puree. Remember to reduce the amount of powdered sugar in the recipe, as both the sauce and puree are typically quite sweet.
- Powdered Sugar: Substitute with a natural sweetener like honey, maple syrup, or a sugar substitute for a low-calorie version.
- Vanilla Extract: Use almond extract or any other flavor extract you prefer.
- Strawberries: Replace with other berries like blueberries, raspberries, or a mix of fruits.
- Graham Crackers: Substitute with gluten-free graham crackers or digestive biscuits.
Variations
- Vanilla Extract: Feel free to completely omit it from the recipe, but it does provide a nice flavor profile.
- Mixed Berry Float: Use a combination of strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries.
- Tropical Float: Substitute strawberries with mangoes, pineapples, and papayas.
- Chocolate Strawberry Float: Add a layer of chocolate ganache or sprinkle chocolate chips between layers.
- Peach Float: Use fresh or canned peaches instead of strawberries.
- Nutty Float: Add crushed nuts like almonds or pistachios for a crunchy texture.
Storage
- Refrigerator: Store the dessert in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Freezer: If you need to keep it longer, you can freeze it. Ensure it's covered tightly with plastic wrap and foil, and it will last for up to 1 month. Thaw in the refrigerator before serving.
- Sift the powdered sugar before adding it. It usually has lumps which take a longer time to dissolve
- You can make it a bit more fancy by drizzling some strawberry syrup

Strawberries are one of my favorite fruits to add to any desserts- especially during the hot summers of California. I can usually get strawberries for 2lbs for $0.99, but I find the best strawberries are found at your local farmer's market.
At my old job, we had a customer who would bring fresh strawberries to us and they were so juicy and delicious. So during my break, I would eat strawberries mixed with whipped cream in a bowl, so simple but it always satisfied my cravings.
I hope you enjoy the recipe!
