    Chocolate Ganache is such a versatile recipe; you can use it for cupcakes, chocolate-covered strawberries, and many, many more.  When I first started uploading video tutorials on YouTube, I didn't realize how important thumbnails and pictures were, so bear with me, but don't let this picture be the judge of how GREAT the Chocolate Ganache is!

    If you're looking for a satisfying sweet comfort food, this chocolate ganache recipe is perfect for you. It is simple to make yet surprisingly mindful and delicious, and it will quickly become a favorite. Give this a try!

    Ingredients

    Listed below are all the ingredients you will need:

    • bittersweet chocolate, chopped
    • heavy cream

    Instructions

    Place the bittersweet chocolate in a large bowl. Next, pour the heavy cream into a small saucepan and bring it to a boil over medium heat.

    Immediately pour the hot cream over the chocolate and stir until it is thick and smooth.

    Grab your spatula and start stirring! Keep a steady pace until the mixture transforms into a smooth, decadent glaze.

    Don't give up too soon 🙂 Once the mixture looks smooth and shiny, it's ready to go.

    Substitutions and Variations

    • You can swap the bittersweet chocolate for semi-sweet, dark, or milk chocolate.
    • If you want to use white chocolate, you'll need to increase the chocolate-to-heavy cream ratio to 3 parts chocolate to 1 part heavy cream, since white chocolate melts more thinly.
    • For a vegan or dairy-free version, replace the heavy cream with full-fat canned coconut milk or coconut cream in a 1:1 ratio.

    Storage Tips

    Room Temperature: Freshly made ganache can be kept covered at room temperature for up to 2 days.

    Refrigeration: Store the ganache in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. To prevent a skin from forming on top, press a piece of plastic wrap directly onto the ganache before sealing the container.

    Freezing: You can freeze chocolate ganache for up to 2 months. Thaw it overnight in the refrigerator, then let it come to room temperature and gently stir or whisk it back to your preferred consistency.

    Q: Can I use white chocolate for this ganache recipe?

    A: Yes, you can. But adjust the quantity of the white chocolate chips. It must be three portions to one portion of the heavy cream.

    Q: How long can we keep the chocolate ganache?

    A: You can keep it at room temperature for two days, but if you keep it in the fridge, it can last up to 5 days or a week.

    Q: Can I freeze chocolate ganache?

    A: Yes you can. It can stay up to two months in the freezer.
